Latest news! EURORAI Management Committee meeting held in Ponta Delgada

At its meeting held on 15 October 2026 in Ponta Delgada, the Management Committee of EURORAI approved the joining of the Northern Ireland Audit Office as full member and the Gibraltar Audit Office as associate member.

Moreover, the Management Committee approved also the annual accounts for 2025 submitted by the General Secretariat and discussed the current financial situation of the Association and the outstanding membership fees.

The following issues were dealt with at the meeting as well:

- The participation of a EURORAI delegation in the 9^th seminar of the EUROSAI Working Group on Municipality Audit.

- The preparations with respect to the events planned for 2027:

-- The EURORAI seminar on the theme “Data-driven Auditing of Regional and Local Governments”, which will be held on 22 April 2027 in Gödöllő near Budapest.

-- The EURORAI seminar devoted to the independence of regional and local public sector audit institutions as a guarantee of democracy, which will take place in Lithuania on 8 October 2027.

- The outcomes of the first meeting of the EURORAI “Peer Review” working group, as well as the next steps to be taken by the group.

Furthermore, it was decided to set up a EURORAI working group on the topic “Strategic communication and public accountability of public sector audit institutions”, which will be chaired by the Court of Audit of Saxony. The aim of the working group is to develop common communication standards. As a first step, a survey is to be carried out on the current state of strategic communication within EURORAI member institutions.

Finally, the decision to set up a working group on the challenges posed by rapidly evolving artificial intelligence for public sector audit institutions was deferred until the next meeting.

 The next meeting of the Management Committee will be held in Budapest on 21 April 2027.
