Exchange of experience between Regional Audit Chambers in Poland and Auditors of Municipalities in Lithuania

At the invitation of Gintaras Radavičius, President of the Association of Comptrollers for Local Authorities in Lithuania, two representatives of Polish regional chambers of audit took part in the annual seminar dedicated to raising the qualifications of employees of municipal control and audit institutions in Lithuania, event which was held on 30 and 31 May 2024 in the city of Palanga.
The presentations made by Joanna Radzieja, Deputy President of the Regional Chamber of Audit in Wrocław, and the Deputy President of the Regional Chamber of Audit in Bygdoszcz, Maciej Słomiński, were dedicated to a report on auditing the management of municipal services (waste collection) in local authorities and a report on auditing the debt of hospitals and municipal companies in cooperation with the Supreme Audit Office of Poland.
Over the years, contacts between Lithuanian auditors of municipalities and representatives of Polish regional audit chambers have been established at seminars organised by EURORAI. EURORAI provides the framework for such an exchange of experience, an exchange that should contribute to making progress in the common field of regional and local public sector financial control in order to guarantee a better use of public finances.
